Database Publishing
Database publishing is a feature that was first introduced in Cascade Server 5.0, which allows content to be published to an external database for the purpose of performing live reads from a web application or any other type of application. Until now, publishing has consisted of moving files to a local or remote file system. Database publishing is more along the lines of synchronizing some portion of the asset hierarchy within Cascade to representative records in an external database. Though it is a valuable new addition to the product, because its emergence was only recent, the Database Publishing feature has never been showcased in its entirety. In this session, Syl Turner will demonstrate some examples of where database publishing can be useful, and walk you through the creation of a simple demo project.
