Highlights

Cascade 6.0.1 is a bug-fix and minor improvement release.  It contains an important fix for roles (Oracle only) and a few other minor bug-fixes including a fix for JavaScript regular expressions in Structured Data Definitions.  The processing of Xalan extensions in XSLT Formats has also been altered.  Cascade 6.0.1 is a recommended upgrade for all Cascade 6 users.

Data Definition Regular Expressions

JavaScript regular expressions can now effectively be used to validate data entered into Structured Data fields.  Previously, a user could enter invalid data into a structured data field being validated by a JavaScript regular expression and then click through any error messages displayed on submission of the content.  For more information, read about Structured Data Definitions and the Structured Data Definition Schema.

Xalan Extensions

The existing preference governing Xalan extensions released in version 6.0 of Cascade has been split into two separate preferences: one that enables JavaScript extensions and one that enables Java extensions.  Using these preferences, Cascade Administrators can now disable Java extensions while allowing JavaScript extensions to remain enabled. 

EXSLT extensions will now function as expected regardless of whether Java or JavaScript extensions are enabled or not.

Upgrading from 6.0 to 6.0.1

• The Cascade Server WSDL has changed with the release of 6.0.1.  It is recommended that all Web Services scripts be tested in a non-production environment before applying the upgrade to production.  Java web services scripts written using Axis should be recompiled against the latest WSDL.
