Setting up File System Transports

Author: David Klanac

A Filesystem transport is used to move content to a local drives’ directory or a network drive. In order for the Filesystem transport to publish to a network drive, the account that Cascade Server uses during start-up needs to have the appropriate permissions to write to the network drive. These permissions are setup on the operating system. Please consult your network administrator for more information.

Creating a New Transport

While in the System area, select the Transports/Filesystem folder and follow these steps:

  1. Select Create from the action bar

  2. Choose Filesystem from the drop-down menu

  3. The next screen is the Filesystem creation menu:

    1. Transport Name: Name of transport; used to identify the transport.

    2. Server directory: Directory of the local drive or network drive where content will publish

    3. Overwrite: checking this box will overwrite similarly named files that exist at the publish location

    4. Zip File: checking this box will create a file named ‘site.zip’ which will contain all of the published site’s content in one archive file.

  4. Select Submit after all of the appropriate values are filled in

Using the Transport

The transport is used by a Destination . Destinations are setup in the Targets area of the system.
