Key Site Enhancements Highlight Release of Cascade 6.2 Out Next Week
Thursday, July 9th, 2009 at 11:00am -- Morgan GriffithAfter a month of testing the Cascade Server 6.2 Beta and incorporating more fixes and functionality, Hannon Hill will release the final version of Cascade Server 6.2 next week. As we mentioned in our blog about the 6.2 Beta release, most of the new features in the 6.2 feature release expand the functionality of Sites, debuted with Cascade Server 6.0.
Adding Sites as a new administrative feature with the release of 6.0 gave our users a more intuitive and organized way to segment out and manage content particular to a specific website. For many of our clients with decentralized web content management processes, especially those in higher education, Sites have made it easier to effectively manage multiple websites within Cascade Server.
With the release of Cascade Server 6.2, we've added even more functionality to the Site content model. Notable features in this release that enhance Cascade's current Site functionality include template sharing and the ability to link across Sites.
In addition to these two major product enhancements, the Cascade 6.2 release also features substantial improvements to the Velocity engine, available via Script Formats in the system, and added logic when copying folders and creating folders via Asset Factories to ensure links are resolved and point to the newly copied content.
For full details on new features and improvements to be included in 6.2, please check out the Release Notes from the Cascade Server 6.2 Beta Release, and don't forget to give us feedback on the Success Community!
