Hannon Hill Moves! Come Check Out Our New Place
By Sam Beresford
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at 4:45pm
As our country's been swept up with the spirit of change in recent months, Hannon Hill too has experienced a great forward progression. Or rather, a great upward progression. At the beginning of this month, while remaining firmly entrenched in our building, One Atlanta Plaza, we proudly moved from the 24th floor to the 33rd & 34th floors -- the penthouse, as it's affectionately known. It's a tremendous new space and an upgrade in all respects, and now that we're all moved in (and almost all settled), we thought we'd show you around.
So the whole "33rd & 34th floors" thing is a tad misleading; while our entrance and a conference room or two are on the 33rd floor, our primary space is on the 34th floor -- the whole 34th floor. After you enter through our lobby on the 33rd floor....

....feel free to take either our private elevator or the grand staircase to the 34th:

You'll immediately be greeted by two of our primary conference rooms; the first, Peachtree, is ground zero for Free Lunch Fridays and any all-hands (company-wide) meetings, and the second, Ponce de Leon, is primarily used for management meetings and, um, Guitar Hero sessions.

After checking out the conference rooms (and there are plenty more where they come from), you can head down a hallway like the one below to see where we spend most of our time. We (the marketing department) can be found here, along with some management folks and most of the Pardot team.

The new layout is still taking some getting used to, but we're all slowly but surely remembering where everybody sits. However, going from one 'Cubeland' in our old digs to two or three (depending on how you define them - maybe two 'Cubelands' and a 'Cubevillage'?) in our new spot doesn't make it very easy. Nonetheless, here's one where most of the engineering crew engineers:

When we were planning this move, we had to keep in mind two very important, mission critical spaces -- our server room:

and our ping-pong room:
ping-pong room
As you can see, our servers have lots more room to breathe, and our ping-pong table now has enough space to invite its buddy the pinball machine over to hang out. And we still have a well-stocked breakroom, but now when it's chow time, we've got a few places to eat, hang out, and enjoy the view. Here's one of them:
lunch tables
And in an added bonus, we've got great accomodations for our bicycle commuters and lunch break gym-goers:
shower
Heck yeah! A private shower, which goes nicely with our private bathrooms, accessible only through our office. And once we were all set up and back in the groove, our first order of business was to get the pennants of all our higher education clients back up on the wall:

For those of you who attended last year's Cascade Server User's Conference, you know that our annual open house took place in our office and (in our opinion, at least) was a great time. With this awesome new space, we'd be crazy not to have our open house here -- so now that you've had a sneak peek, start looking forward to Hannon Hill's open house at the 2009 Cascade Server User's Conference!

Call For Speakers - Cascade Server User's Conference 2009
By Uran Piedra
Thursday, February 12th, 2009 at 4:10pm
As you've seen from a few of our most recent entries, ensuring a successful 2009 Cascade Server User's Conference is one of our primary goals here at Hannon Hill. If we had to identify one single thing that makes or breaks our annual gathering of Cascade Server clients, it would definitely be our presenters. Luckily, we've always been fortunate enough to feature some of the most proficient and engaging Cascade users out there. To see what we mean, just check out some of the presentations from the Cascade Server User's Conference 2008.
With that in mind, we're officially putting out the call for speakers for this year's conference. If you have an idea for a session that you'd like to tell us about, or a unique implementation of Cascade Server that you'd be interested in sharing with others, we'd love to hear from you! Submit a brief proposal, and we'll help you create a session for the 2009 User's Conference.
Best of all, as a speaker, you'll receive complimentary admission to the 2009 Cascade Server User's Conference. This includes accommodations, access to all conference sessions, scheduled meals and our open house event.

Save The Date! Cascade Server User's Conference 2009
By Sam Beresford
Friday, February 6th, 2009 at 11:43am
That's right, folks, it's official: the Cascade Server User's Conference 2009 is happening on Sunday, Sept. 27-Tuesday, Sept. 29 at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center here in Atlanta, GA. For those of you in attendance last year, you know what an enriching experience it was (and what a beautiful facility the GTHCC is), and for those of you who'll join us for the first time this year, you're in for a treat.
Last year's conference featured an array of speakers presenting on topics ranging from site architecture & development to a Cascade Server roadmap, and we're working hard to ensure that this year's lineup includes presentations and sessions that are even more engaging and informative than before. And as always, we'd love to hear from you as we plan it. Check out a previous blog post where you can provide input as we brainstorm for the Cascade Server User's Conference 2009, and feel free to get in touch with morgan.griffith@hannonhill.com at any time with ideas or suggestions as well. See you in Atlanta in September!
