New Cascade Server Google Analytics Connector

As a marketer, one of the most important tools I have at my disposal is Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a free web analytics tool that provides marketers and website stakeholders with insights into their website traffic and marketing effectiveness. Although Google Analytics is incredibly useful and powerful on its own, marketers are left to bridge the gap between the analytics data and the actual web content. There has never been an easy way for CMS contributors to access site-wide analytics data or view specific data within the context of a particular page on their site. Until now, that is.
Enter the Cascade Server Google Analytics Connector, included in the new 6.8 beta. This connector further enhances the use of analytics data by syncing with an organization’s Google Analytics account and providing a snapshot of basic analytics data for each asset and overall Site in Cascade. For example, if you are on a specific web page within the CMS, you can click on the ‘Analytics’ pane and view pageviews, unique pageviews, bounce rate and average time on page for a specific date range. Similarly, if you are in the Home Area, clicking on the “Analytics” tab on the Dashboard will give you overall Site analytics, including overall pageviews, visitors, and top performing pages. Having this information readily available within the CMS empowers content contributors to make informed decisions on ways to improve their content and easily edit the content within the same interface.
For more information on the Google Analytics Connector, check out the Cascade Sever 6.8 Beta release notes. The 6.8 beta is also available for testing in a sandbox as well as for download, so you can check out the connector for yourself!
