Hannon Hill Happenings

By Chris Armistead
Thursday, September 30th, 2010 at 3:00pm

We here at Hannon Hill are in the midst of one of our busiest times of year - and we know that the Fall can be the busiest for many of our higher ed customers as well.  As fast as things are moving for us, we wanted to pause and let our customers know about a few upcoming things.

Our Conference

As you many of you probably know, on September 13th and 14th we held our biggest User Conference to date here in Atlanta.  We were proud to welcome 126 of our customers for the two-day conference which featured 22 sessions by clients, partners, and Hannon Hill staff.  For those of you who weren't able to attend or did attend but wished you could have been in two sessions at once, we've got great news!  We have videos of every session currently in their final stages of post-production - so look for a ton of new Cascade resources coming soon!

Other Conferences

Now that we've hosted guests at our own conference, it's time for us to hit the road and take a turn as conference guests ourselves.  We'll be sending staff members to HighEdWeb in Cincinnati, OH from October 10-13 as well as the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA from October 13-15.  If you are attending either one, be sure and stop by to say hey!  We'll be in the Exhibit Hall at HighEdWeb and at booth #821 at EDUCAUSE.

New Features

Even with all these things going on, our development team remains hard at work on our next feature release Cascade Server 6.8.  Since Cascade Server 6.7 included a Recycle Bin - our most suggested feature in recent memory - there is a lot to live up to.  But with a Google Analytics connector coming in 6.8 to give users more insight into how their content is performing, we are confident that the product will only continue to grow stronger.

What Do You Think?

As always, we are constantly encouraging feedback from our customers to help shape the future of Cascade Server.  Give your suggestions on our Idea Exchange and take our Satisfaction Survey.  We love to hear your ideas and know how you think we're doing!

Even though it's a busy time, stay tuned to our blog for company news and be on the lookout for our conference videos in the very near future!

Using Cascade Server’s Twitter and WordPress Connector

By Joel Dixon
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010 at 3:00pm

Cascade Server is designed with ease-of-use in mind.  With almost 140 higher education organizations, we understand that a majority of content management system users are non-technical and need intuitive tools for publishing website content.

Last year we introduced our Cascade Server 6.4 release which included a new Connectors strategy with 3rd-party best-of-breed tools.  The first two selected were social media favorite Twitter and blogging powerhouse WordPress.  Both connectors are so easy to implement and utilize that “even a caveman can do it!”

The second day of our Cascade Server User Conference included my presentation on “Using our Cascade Server Twitter & WordPress Connectors.”  The presentation documented the simple steps included on our Knowledge Base for setting up each connector and included real world examples such as our own usage with our Blog content.

A special guest appearance came via the wonders of remote screen sharing with one of our Canadian clients University of New Brunswick.  David Shipley, the senior web content developer, dialed-in using GotoMeeting and walked through the real-world example of UNB’s use of the Cascade Server WordPress connector.  A case study on their usage of Cascade Server is also a great read.

If you’re using blogs and connected to Twitter, please consider Cascade Server’s Twitter and WordPress connectors.  Also, stay tuned for the new connector tools in upcoming releases.

Today Is The Last Day For Conference Sign Up

By Chris Armistead
Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at 10:30am

With the 2010 User Conference right around the bend, we are getting the word out that today is the absolute last day to sign up.  We have to get our final guest list over to the hotel today, so once we close registration, it really is closed for good!  If you've been on the fence about this event, take another look at the conference schedule before time runs out.  This is far and away our strongest set of presentations to date, with more than double the number of client speakers from last year.  You will not only get the same great opportunities to hear from and speak to our staff, but you can learn from and collaborate with Cascade users from across North America.

We are so excited about seeing our customers in less than two weeks, and we can't wait to put on our best conference yet.  Register now to get one of the final spots.  When the day is over, you'll have to wait until 2011 for another chance!
