2011 Cascade Server User Conference: It Just Keeps Getting Better!

By Holly Wright
Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at 9:00am

We officially opened the signups this week for our sixth annual Cascade Server User Conference, and I am eager to share with you some of the new things we are offering to make it an even better experience for you this year.

Location: Atlanta is consistently ranked as a Top 5 Conference Destination city in the U.S., and for good reason—it boasts the busiest airport in the world, the largest aquarium in the world, the Historic Fox Theatre, and countless other attractions!  This year, we have moved the conference from Buckhead back to Midtown to better accommodate those of you who are interested in experiencing the city during your visit.  The Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center is adjacent to the Global Learning Center, where all the sessions will take place, and is within four short blocks of the North Avenue MARTA rail station, allowing you to get to the all the major downtown attractions within minutes.

Early Registration: Forget waiting in line first thing Monday morning before you’ve even had a cup of coffee!  Not only are we offering optional Sunday check-in, but we are also hosting a Welcome Event in conjunction with our sponsor BarkleyREI on Sunday evening.  Come early, get settled in, and then mix and mingle with the Hannon Hill team and other attendees before we get down to the serious stuff.

Consulting Time: This one is BIG!  While the schedule will be packed with engaging and educational speakers and breakout sessions, we will also have our developers and trainers on hand for you to speak with one-on-one.  They will be available during all the breaks and even during the sessions for you to consult with for any questions you may have.  Bring your most puzzling conundrums to the User Conference, and our team will share their expertise to give you on-the-spot, in-depth, personal answers.  Go ahead, see if you can stump ‘em!

Awards: Introducing the Inaugural Cassies Awards Ceremony!  I don’t want to give away all the surprises just yet, but stay tuned to our twitter announcements and other User Conference communications for a chance to nominate your peers (or yourself!) for one of our elite Cassies.  The ceremony will celebrate outstanding clients and Hannon Hill employees who have gone above and beyond to set themselves apart.  Categories will be announced in the coming weeks, but please feel free to submit your creative ideas by emailing chris.armistead@hannonhill.com.

We are extremely excited to implement these upgrades in order to make the 2011 Cascade Server User Conference an incredible value!  Sign up before June 17th and take advantage of the Early Bird rate—an even sweeter deal!

Join Us in Toronto for the PSEWEB Conference

By Joel Dixon
Monday, May 16th, 2011 at 10:00am

Hannon Hill is a proud sponsor of the  PSEWEB 2011 conference May 18th-20th in Toronto, Ontario.  I am looking forward to seeing most of our 11 Canadian higher education clients there.  In fact, members of several of these universities will be presenters at the conference including University of Western Ontario, University of New Brunswick and University of Saskatchewan.

This conference is targeted toward “college and university marketers, programmers, designers, digital architects and community managers--the people behind the online faces of our institutions.”  There are a large number of relevant workshops for higher education such as "Social Media and Web 101," "Building iWestern" and "The Road Ahead for Higher Education: Emerging Trends 2011."

I will also have the opportunity to do a presentation, which I have titled, “Are We There Yet? Create, Manage & Measure Your Web Campaign Success.”  This session will focus on the lifecycle of managing content via an enterprise content management system like Cascade Server, the popularity of Google Analytics for website visitor tracking and now the use of measurement tools like Spectate to help you maximize your web and social media marketing objectives.

Last year’s conference was a great experience and I know conference organizer Melissa Cheater and her team have worked hard to make it bigger and better this year.  If you are at the conference, be sure to visit us at our booth to get one of these stainless steel sports bottles or tweet me @joelddixon.  BTW, follow all the fun at #pseweb.

We're excited to announce that next Tuesday, May 10th, we will be presenting the next installment in our series of Best Practices webinars.  This webinar will focus on the use of Structured Data Blocks and was actually born out of some of the how-to questions that came in from the Hawaii Pacific University webinar several weeks back.  In this webinar, Hannon Hill's own Amy Liu will walk viewers through some examples while providing best practices for creating and employing Structured Data Blocks.

We hope you'll sign up today to reserve your seat for this event.  If you can't make the live session, however, you will be able to view the video of this webinar and all other past webinars on the  Demos page on our site.
