David will be moderating a panel discussion on content management.

Silicon Events Small Business Conference September 11 - Oakland, CA - Content Management for Small Business
David will be giving a presentation on content management software for small businesses.

Cascade Server Workflow Overhaul

The Cascade Server workflow engine and visual workflow builder are being completely overhauled. Workflows can be attached to asset factories allowing the creation of specific assets with a pre-built workflow. This will help further extend the functionality and benefits of Cascade Server within the enterprise.

Look for the updated workflow engine and workflow builder due out at the end of the September.

Technology Tip

In Cascade Server, targets represent publishing paths. For example, a printer friendly version of a web page would be available at http://www.mycompany.com/en/html/printer/. The "en/html/printer" portion of the URL is controlled via the target. Each page in Cascade Server has one or more configurations each with a single template belonging to a single target. Thus, the template for the page configuration determines the publishing target. Using targets is very powerful for multi-format online publishing.
