Introducing Cascade Server

To go along with our updated corporate image, and the newly enhanced release of our content management system, we've changed the name of our flagship software to Cascade Server. The new name was chosen to make it easier to remember and less technical sounding compared to the previous name of "Content" and "XML" fused together.

The word "cascade" not only evokes a more descriptive, positive image than "content," but it also describes a major benefit of a CMS: cascading changes across one or more sites with centralized templates and blocks of content. In addition, cascade is found in the web design term Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), which provides for controlling presentation of information.

XML Conference in Atlanta

Hannon Hill's own David Cummings will speak at the upcoming XML Conference and Exhibition 2005 in Atlanta. Management and technical professionals from business, government, and other organizations will gather to review the latest technologies, applications, and services that exist for the XML community.

Cummings' topic, "Real World XML - Higher Education Single Sourcing Course Catalogs with XML" will highlight some of the work we've been doing to improve university operations by using Cascade Server for more than just the website.

The conference will be held November 14-18, 2005, at the Hilton Atlanta. To register, visit http://2005.xmlconference.org/
