New Case Study - College of William & Mary

An intensely rigorous research university and innovative cutting-edge academic groundbreaker, the College of William & Mary merges the diversity and experience of a public school with a community-oriented campus and presence. With this commitment to its community in mind, the school realized the need for a more consistent and appealing website to better serve its constituents and underwent the process of acquiring and implementing a more centralized and easy-to-use content management system. After selecting Cascade Server as their WCM solution of choice, hiring consultant mStoner to help with the campus redesign, and creating a blog (re.web) to document the entire process, W&M set about the process of reasserting its web efforts campus-wide.

The results? Find out more about how W&M took a different approach to web content management in our College of William & Mary Cascade Server case study.

Keys to a Successful CMS Implementation

In our ongoing effort to hone in on key traits of our most successful site implementations, we've recently posted a handful of new blogs related to traits that make some of our client projects as successful as they've been. As we mentioned in last month's newsletter, our Services Manager, Kat Liendgens has written a multi-part blog series discussing the keys to WCM implementation success.  In her most recent post, Kat discusses the role that requirements gathering plays in the success of your project.  Clearly identifying project scope before getting started with development ensures that both our Services Team and the client are on the same page in terms of project goals.

For this reason, when a client contacts our Services team for a QuickStart project, we ask that they fill out a “Statement of Requirements” prior to getting started on the project.  This enables our clients to really think about the desired outcome and provide us with detail about their project scope before we engage in the planning process. Be on the look out for more keys to WCM project success from Kat in the near future.
