Keys to CMS Project Implementation Success
Over the last several weeks, you may have noticed that our Services Manager, Kat Liendgens has taken the time to put together a multi-part blog series exploring keys to web content management (WCM) implementation success. Before embarking on a project implementation, there are several things to think about to ensure your project is successful. The first is to secure early buy-in from end-user stakeholders. Getting your end-users, those who will be contributing content, to understand the many benefits of the new CMS and become actively engaged in the planning process will not only help ensure success but can help seamlessly transition your end-users into a new system and reduce the chance that fresh content will lag during this time.
The second step to ensure success of your project is to correctly identify your project scope. At Hannon Hill, our Professional Services Team offers our clients a wide variety of options to get their websites up and running. These QuickStart packages are designed to get a small section of a client website integrated into Cascade Server and typically take less than 100 hours to complete. By selecting a small, representative portion of an overall website for our team to integrate, our clients can see how to set up their site content in Cascade according to best practices that can be reused across future integrations.
Upcoming Release: Cascade Server 6.4
Hannon Hill is proud to announce that the final release of its flagship WCM solution, Cascade Server 6.4, will be out next week. The major features in this release are the WordPress and Twitter Connector, the first of several Connectors as part of a new strategy being incorporated into the product roadmap. The WordPress Connector will allow organizations to manage blog content and seamlessly publish WordPress blogs from inside the CMS. With the Twitter Connector, organizations are afforded the ability to automatically tweet newly-published content to Twitter without users having to tweet content, links, and appropriate hashtags manually.
In addition to these major features, Cascade Server 6.4 contains several other enhancements such as an edit-area syntax highlighter, a drag and drop content form builder, and new compare with current capabilities to more easily compare asset versions.
