Cascade Server 4.2 builds on the success of previous 4.x releases to provide even more functionality.
"This release offers some big improvements for administrators," says Kayton Sapale, Services Director for Hannon Hill. "We have a completely revamped visual workflow builder that will make it much easier to create complex custom workflows in a visual manner. Cascade Server has always been strong in its ability to provide sophisticated workflow capability, but up until now that's been dependent on a previous workflow builder that wasn't as powerful."
Adding to the flexibility of the software, Cascade Server now offers a SOAP-based web services interface to allow organizations greater interaction between Cascade Server and other applications. Web services are an industry standard providing for XML data exchange between disparate system. With web service capabilities now, Cascade Server can be more fully integrated into customer environments providing a greater return on investment.
The 4.2 release also offer news features that business users will appreciate: an improved browse folder interface allows users to see thumbnails of available images like an image gallery, and there are now even more options available to have more sophisticated data types through new grouping options in data definitions.
