Hannon Hill Presents Newest 5 Series Release - Cascade Server 5.2

ATLANTA, GA - April 1, 2008 -- Hannon Hill is proud to release the latest version of its flagship web content management product, Cascade Server 5.2. Consistent with the goal of the Cascade 5 Series, Cascade Server 5.2 aims to enhance the overall user experience for end-users and system administrators alike.

The new features aiding Cascade in accomplishing this goal of enhancing and streamlining the user experience include Publish Queue Reordering, Drag N’ Drop Folder Reordering, and a WYSIWYG upgrade in anticipation of the release of FireFox 3.

Publish Queue Reordering is a feature that has been added to Cascade Server in order to aid those organizations using Cascade Server for more enterprise-oriented deployments. These organizations often have independent departments and business units that publish content according to their own schedules. In an effort to eliminate long publish wait times for time-critical publishes that may be “waiting in line” behind several whole site publishes, Managers and Administrators in Cascade will now be able to reorder pending jobs in the Publish Queue by simply dragging and dropping items in the list. (System Administrators are able to change System Preferences to customize which roles are able to drag n’ drop publish jobs in the queue.) Additionally, while views of assets in the publish queue were previously limited by role, all users who can access the publish status screen will now be able to view all jobs in the queue.

Drag N’ Drop Folder Reordering provides similar functionality to that made available via the new Publish Queue. Users are now able to drag n’ drop assets in the folder structure without needing to use the up/down/top/bottom buttons visible to the right of each asset. When mousing over items in a given folder, a custom cursor will appear notifying users that the item can be dragged and reordered. (Cascade’s up/down/top/bottom buttons will still be available in 5.2 for users who prefer to reorder assets that way).

In keeping with the goals of the Cascade Server 5 Series, Cascade 5.2 provides end-users and system administrators with the added flexibility and streamlined use they are looking for. These enhancements serve to streamline the user experience while providing the consistent performance you've come to expect from Cascade Server.
