Hannon Hill Presents Newest 5 Series Release - Cascade 5.5

ATLANTA, GA - July 3, 2008 -- Hannon Hill is proud to announce the release of the latest version of its flagship web content management product, Cascade Server 5.5. Consistent with the goal of the Cascade 5 Series, Cascade Server 5.5 aims to enhance the overall user experience for end-users and system administrators alike.

The new features aiding Cascade in accomplishing this goal of enhancing and streamlining the user experience include Content Types, Customizable Roles, and new user preferences.

Content Types provide administrators with the ability to formally combine configuration sets, metadata sets, and data definitions into one component that can then be applied to a page.  This important feature allows users to easily identify which predefined type to apply to a particular page of content, such as a Blog Post or Press Release, while maintaining consistency among other pages of the same Content Type. In addition, the edit interface is made simpler with the use of Content Types by combining multiple options into one Content Type chooser, as well as providing administrators with a single point of control to modify components of selected pages without requiring a Bulk Change operation.

Customizable Roles allow System Administrators to fully customize the capabilities associated with existing roles including in areas such as Administration, Security, Home Area, Publishing, and Workflow.  Though Cascade will continue to provide the same initial default capabilities for these roles, the release of 5.5 allows for customization of these abilities, if desired.

New user preferences have also been added in 5.5 including the ability to specify whether or not the left hand asset navigation tree will be displayed at login, as well as the added capability for users, who have the ability to bypass workflows, to specify if a workflow should be bypassed by default.

In keeping with the goals of the Cascade Server 5 Series, Cascade 5.5 provides end-users and system administrators with added flexibility and streamlined use. These enhancements aim to simplify the user experience while providing the consistent performance you've come to expect from Cascade Server.
