Attention, Cascaders!

We’re pleased to let you know that Cascade CMS 8.10 has been released and is ready for download. While we consider it a minor release, we recommend upgrading at your earliest convenience, as this version contains an important Tomcat upgrade.

Here are the specifics of the release:

Tomcat 9

Since Tomcat 8 is reaching end of life on June 30, the Cascade 8.10 will ship with the 9.0.8 servlet container, containing security fixes and improvements. Since 9 is the only supported Tomcat version for this release of the CMS, please be sure to use the full installer. Cascade Cloud customers, you don’t have to concern yourself with this, since we’ll be handling the upgrade for you.

Dates and Times

By popular demand, we changed the way that dates and times are formatted in the system. Instead of relative times (e.g.  9 minutes ago or 2 years ago), you will now see absolute times (Today 11:20 AM or Jun 1 3:29 PM).

Last modified

When viewing the contents of a Folder or Container, you are now presented with information about who last modified a given asset.

In addition, this release contains fixes, such as known issues in Oracle (email preferences and empty structured data values in the search and replace feature), rendering metrics, and the WYSIWYG editor in IE11. For a full list, please check out the Release Notes page.

As always, we like to thank our customer for continuing to share their suggestions with us on the Idea Portal, and we encourage you to keep the ideas coming.
