To access a Site from the Site drop-down menu, a user needs a [Site Role](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/cascade-administration/permissions/roles.html) assigned at the Site level, either directly or through their Group membership.

## Seeing who has access

1. Navigate to **Manage Site > Site Settings**.
1. Click the **Roles** tab.

## Assigning a User or Group to a Site Role

- If the Site Role is already on the Site, click **Choose Users/Groups** to assign the User or Group to it.
- If the Site Role isn't on the Site yet, add it with **Choose Roles** first, then click **Choose Users/Groups**.

> If users still can't browse to the Site despite having a Site Role, check that they have at least **Read** access to the Site's Base Folder. See [Access Rights](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/cascade-administration/permissions/access-rights.html).
