To rename an asset:

1. While viewing the asset, click **More > Rename**. You can also do this from the [context menu](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/cascade-basics/context-menu.html).
1. In the **New Name** field, enter the new name.
1. Click **Rename**.

> **Renaming unpublishes the asset**
>
> Renaming removes the asset from all enabled Destinations and Outputs. Once renamed, publish it immediately, along with any sections of your Sites that link to it.

Not seeing the Rename option? Your CMS or Site Administrator needs to enable the *Move/Rename assets* ability on your [Site Role](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/cascade-administration/permissions/role-abilities-in-cascade.html).
