When attempting to publish to an FTP server, you may see a message like the following:

```bash
I won't open a connection to <ip address 1> (only to <ip address 2>)
```

This typically indicates that the underlying [Transport](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-authoring/publishing/transports.html) is configured to use Active FTP while the target server only supports Passive FTP. To address it:

1. Edit the FTP [Transport](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-authoring/publishing/transports.html) in question.
1. Check **Use Passive FTP (PASV)**.
1. Submit.

The same setting resolves [Accept timed out](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-authoring/publishing/error-occurred-during-ftp-transport-accept-timed-out.html), which is the other symptom of an Active/Passive mismatch.
