To correct permission issues when using Filesystem [Transports](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-authoring/publishing/transports.html), make sure the boot script is updated. By default, the Tomcat container Cascade CMS runs on uses a UMASK of `0027`, which can leave published files unreadable when a web server tries to serve them.

To override the default UMASK:

1. Stop Cascade CMS.
1. Edit *cascade.sh*, in the root directory of the Cascade CMS installation.
1. Below the line with `export JAVA_OPTS=...`, add `export UMASK='0022'`, or the value you want.
1. Start Cascade CMS.
