To add a caption to an image:

1. In the editor, click the image you want to add a caption to.
1. Click the **Insert/edit image** icon. You can also right-click the image and select **Image**.
1. In the dialog box, click the **Advanced** tab.
1. Check **Use figure and figcaption for this image**.
1. Click **Ok**. The word *Caption* appears underneath your image.
1. Replace the *Caption* text with your own.

> Captions are a good fit when an image needs context that the surrounding text does not already give. For guidance on when to caption and how captions relate to alt text, see the [WYSIWYG guide](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-authoring/wysiwyg-guide-images-pdfs-tables-video.html).
