# Merge Trigger

> Merges any changes into the system repository.

## Overview

This trigger merges changes from the working copy into the current version. This should be called after the approvals are complete and right before publishing occurs.

> **Note**
>
> When adding the [Version Trigger](https://www.hannonhill.com/cascadecms/latest/articles/content-management/workflows/workflow-triggers/version-trigger.html), Merge Trigger, and any publish trigger, they **must appear in this order** to properly perform all these actions in the database.
