Over half of our new customers over the past year have chosen the cloud-based subscription to Cascade CMS. Here’s some information that you might find helpful:

Allowing us to host your CMS means no worrying about hardware purchases, installation or upgrades, backups and no relying on your organization's IT department. Our support team hosts and maintains the application server and database server.

Cascade Cloud includes:

  • Product and database setup and installation

  • Software upgrades handled by the Hannon Hill Support team-- maintenance and feature releases

  • Daily backups of your database

  • All operating system and database server patches and security fixes

  • No limits on number of sites

  • No limits on the number of named users

User Authentication

We can integrate with your current authentication system. We have native LDAP or Active Directory integration and a custom authentication API which to hook into a variety of single sign-on products like CAS, Kerberos, and Shibboleth.

 

 

 

For the installed (on-premise hosted) options of Cascade, you have two options: the Standard License and the Enterprise License.

Standard License

The Standard License includes free additional licenses for Testing, Development, and Stand-by. Unlimited users, sites, and domains within your organization.

Enterprise License

The Enterprise License includes free additional licenses for Testing, Development, Stand-by, and Load Balancing. Unlimited users, sites, and domains within your organization.


Cascade CMS is a centrally-managed web-based application available to all users via a network connection. Cascade CMS is designed to create standards-compliant web content available to site visitors across all browsers and platforms.


CMS Server

  • CPU:

    • Quad-core (minimum) / 8-core (recommended)

    • NOTE: Cascade can be run in virtualized environments such as VMware and Hyper-V

  • Memory for Cascade CMS application:

    • 6 GB RAM (minimum)

    • 8 GB RAM (recommended)

  • Hard Drive space available:

  • Operating System:

    • Windows Server 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2012 R2

    • Mac OS X Server (10.9+)

    • Linux (64-bit)

  • Oracle Java 8 64-bit Server JRE or JDK

    • Java 8u60 or later

    • Note: Other distributions of Java including Open JDK are not supported

CMS Database

  • MySQL 5.6 / 5.5 / 5.1

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 / 2014

  • Oracle 11g / 12c

  • Memory (RAM) for database server: 4GB (minimum) / 8GB (recommended)

Destination Web Server

  • Apache

  • Microsoft IIS

  • nginx

  • Zeus Web Server

  • Other webservers may be used. Cascade CMS needs to publish its content via SFTP (i.e. SSH File Transfer Protocol), FTP, or a locally available directory or network share.

Client Machine Requirements (for content contributors)

  • Web Browser:

    • Internet Explorer 9, 10, 11

    • Firefox 25+

    • Apple Safari for OS X or iOS 7+

    • Google Chrome

  • Screen resolutions of 1280x1024 or higher
