Cascade Exchange: QuickEdit

Thursday, June 11th, 2015 at 9:30am

This is the 7th blog post in our ongoing Cascade Exchange (#CascadeXC) Series, where we’ll be highlighting a different resource every week. Check out last week’s blog post on Reports.

With Cascade’s QuickEdit code, you can set up a hidden (or public) link on your live site that web editors can click in order to jump right to the page (even the edit screen) in the CMS. Users that are already logged in will automatically be taken to the page they were just viewing, while website visitors who aren't logged into Cascade will be taken to a screen to enter their credentials before being granted access to the content. In addition to using a hidden link, you can also configure an access key to jump from the live site into Cascade.

Although Cascade's folder and URL structure make it easy to find live webpages inside the CMS, a QuickEdit link lets users skips a few steps in order to make updates more quickly and easily.

Download our example XSLT or Velocity code today and give users a direct path to edit their content from the live website.
