Getting your organization’s sites to meet federal standards governing web accessibility is essential. Failure to comply with the new rules could result in a letter from the Office of Civil Rights or a loss of federal funds.

The good news is that there are tons of resources to help you find and fix accessibility issues. Here’s our list of ten amazing tools to help you track accessibility issues on your site.

Free site accessibility checkers:

  1. NoCoffee: Chrome extension that simulates various types of visual disabilities  to help you find and fix potential issues on your site
  2. WAVE Web Accessibility Tool: Offered by WebAIM to evaluate the accessibility of sites or pages.

  5. Accessibility Developer Tools: Chrome extension does a complete accessibility audit on any page being created or updated by developers.

Paid site accessibility checkers:

  1. Tenon.io: Provides page-level checks for 508 and WCAG issues on live sites and or while pages are still in development.
  2. SiteImprove: Enterprise platform that scans sites for various content quality issues including accessibility, SEO, and performance analytics.
  3. Sortsite: A single-step checker that reviews entire sites for broken links, SEO, usability and accessibility issues.
