Carnegie Mellon University has been a long time Cascade CMS client. They reached out to Hannon Hill's Professional Services team to implement their new responsive template within Cascade CMS. One of Carnegie Mellon University's primary goals was to enable users with no technical skills to create web pages that have a variety of widget options and to not have to worry about those entering or formatting HTML.
Hannon Hill's Professional Services team setup a single template for Carnegie Mellon University with many different widget options. Users can now decide whether they would like to feature a slideshow, simple banner, or video at the top of the page. Users can also now decide whether things like navigation, news listings, event listings, and sidebar features are included in pages.
Hannon Hill leveraged the one template approach so that end users can later on change and customize existing pages to include or exclude wigets and layout without having an administrator help change the template being used.
