Discarding the Index Block Rendering Cache

Under rare circumstances, you may notice that a Page (or Pages) utilizing an Index Block has outdated information on it. This can be a sign that the Index Block Rendering Cache doesn't have the most recent information for certain assets stored in the cache.

In most cases, this can be resolved by discarding the Index Block Rendering Cache which will force the system to rebuild the cache based on the most recent data for all assets. To discard/rebuild the Index Block Rendering Cache:

  • Click Menu -> Administration -> Preferences
  • Click the Content tab
  • Scroll down to the
  • Click Submit
  • Immediately navigate back to the Content tab, scroll back down to the Index Block Rendering Cache field, and check the Enabled check box
  • Click Submit
Note: These steps force the system to rebuild the Index Block Rendering Cache from scratch. Initial Page renders will be slower than usual as assets get added back to the cache when they are viewed (at which point subsequent Page renders will be much faster again).
