Adding classes to tables

To apply a class to different areas of a table:

1. Click the table, row, or cell where you want to apply a class.
2. Click Format, then select Formats → Custom.
3. Select the class name to apply it to your selection.

When you make a selection in the WYSIWYG editor, the status bar at the bottom of the editor displays the element path for the selected element and its parents. Those elements are clickable, which lets you target a specific element within a table.

For example, clicking into a row selects a table cell by default, and the status bar shows table » tbody » tr » td. Clicking tr in the element path selects the table row, so the class applies to the <tr> rather than the <td>. Selecting table in the element path targets the <table> element itself.

Two things can go wrong here, and they look different:

• Nothing appears under Formats → Custom. Your developers have not configured any classes in the underlying WYSIWYG Editor Configuration. Reach out to them to request Custom Formatting options.
• Class names appear but are greyed out. No classes are available for the element you selected. Use the element path described above to confirm you have targeted the tag you meant to.
