Hannon Hill provides comprehensive training programs for both technical and non-technical users of Cascade CMS.

For most trainings, we provide three formats:

  • On-Site — We bring the training to you
  • In-Office — Take a small vacation and come visit us
  • Remote — Teleconference using an online meeting solution

Session recordings are provided at no additional cost. This can provide a valuable refresher course later on.

The Cascade CMS Bootcamp is conducted over two and a half days. The first two days are given consecutively, with an additional half-day scheduled soon after to review topics, answer questions, and cover additional material.

Request Training

The Cascade CMS Virtual Groupcamp is designed to teach you how to build and integrate the fundamental assets needed to manage a website from scratch and take full advantage of Cascade CMS. The majority of the content is directed at technical System Administrators and Developers.

This training is for existing customers and can service a number of needs. From speeding up onboarding of a new developer to users needing a refresher, this training covers the core skills you need to know. This option is perfect for organizations that don't need a large number of users trained and are okay with being part of a group training.

Format

The training is conducted remotely over two days. It is necessary for each participant to have a dedicated screen to view the Hannon Hill trainer's screen and their own computer/workspace with a network connection. Anyone attending the training should come prepared with access to an IDE to help streamline the coding process. (Free examples: Atom, Sublime Text, and TextWrangler.) Access to the Hannon Hill training environment will be emailed to all participants prior to the event after registration closes.

Important Information

  • This training is for Hannon Hill customers who have been with us for more than one year.

  • Space is limited in order to facilitate an effective training.

  • A maximum of two users per organization will be enforced. Customers needing more than two users trained should contact the training team to ask about our dedicated Cascade CMS Bootcamp.

End User Training is conducted over a maximum of two hours. The hands-on training is designed to introduce participants to Cascade CMS. End Users or Content Contributors learn the basics of managing content within your specific Cascade CMS implementation subject to the Roles, Abilities, and processes you have in place.

  • Creating New Content, Working with Content Wizards
  • Editing WYSIWYG and Structured Content
  • Content Checks - Spelling, Broken Links, Accessibility
  • Content Collaboration - Workflow, Tasks, Comments
  • Previewing, Comparing, Saving, and Publishing Content
  • Advanced Actions - Move, Rename, Delete, Unpublish, Versions, Locks

Train the Trainer Engagements are conducted over a maximum of four hours. The hands-on training is designed to teach one person how to walk users through your Cascade CMS implementation. After learning how to create and manage content, users will learn how to be good liaisons and implementation experts.

Workflow Training is conducted over a maximum of four hours. The hands-on training is designed to introduce participants to building and using Workflows. Participants are introduced to basic Workflow concepts and terminology in order to build a simple Workflow. Following this introduction, we build and test a more advanced Workflow with approval, edits, and triggers.

Velocity Training is conducted over a maximum of four hours. The hands-on training is designed to educate participants on performing data transformations in Cascade CMS using a customized build of Apache Velocity. Participants learn how to access and display WYSIWYG and Structured Content on a Page. These skills allow Administrators and Developers to display, massage, reuse page content around the entire website.

  • Locator Tool and Query API, Property Tool
