Move/Rename

Digest

All Assets and Components (except Users, Groups, and Roles) can be moved and renamed.  With Cascade Server 6.7, there is a separate tab for moving and renaming.  In pre-6.7, this was done as part of editing. As of 6.7, most Assets and Components can be moved across Sites.

Concept

Move/Rename tab displays the fields for the new System Name and Parent Folder. The tab also allows a User to start an edit Workflow. The User can be forced into workflow if he or she does not have an ability to bypass a workflow and the folder's workflow setting "Require Workflow" is set to "Yes."

As of Cascade 7.0 for publishable assets (Pages, Files, and Folders), the Move/Rename form includes an "Unpublish" checkbox which will cause the Asset to be unpublished after the Move/ Rename operation is successful.  The form includes a list of Destinations (and Configurations for Pages) that shoud be included in the unpublish operation.  Whether the checkbox is checked by default is governed by the "Unpublish on Move / Rename" user preference.  For Cascade 7.0, unpublishing from Wordpress Connectors and Database Destinations is disabled and the Unpublish option is ignored for Move operations that launch a Workflow.

In order to use the Move/Rename tab, the User needs an ability to move or rename assets. By default, all Users have this ability. However, administrators and site managers are able to disable this ability for certain Roles.
