  2. Creating Dynamic Navigation »
    1. Types of Dynamic Navigation »
    2. Setting up Index Blocks
Index blocks are the basis for creating dynamic navigation elements for a site.
    3. External Links
Sometimes a site will require that links that point to external pages be added to a navigation menu.
  3. Creating Structured Authoring Fields »
Structured Authoring is a way to allow non-technical users to enter content into a series of fields without the need for additional formatting.
    1. Data Definition Syntax
Please reference the various Data Definitions in the software to better understand how to create customized versions.
    2. Creating a Data Definition
Data Definitions are managed in the Administration area.
  4. Creating Multiple Outputs »
Cascade Server supports the creation of multiple outputs for content. By setting up additional targets, templates, and configurations for the multiple outputs, Cascade Server can automatically generate and publish multiple versions of the same content. Content need only be updated once, and changes are replicated throughout the additional outputs.
    1. Creating Links Between Outputs
Cascade Server has special system attributes that can be added to templates to create links between the outputs.
    2. PDF
PDFs are useful for providing an easily printed version of online content.
    3. Multiple Languages
Managing multi-lingual websites is straightforward in the CMS.
    4. RSS Feeds
RSS is essentially an XML document with links and metadata conforming to a specific standard.
    5. MS Word, WML, Lite HTML
When multiple outputs are configured, any changes to the page content are shown throughout all configurations
  5. Creating System Components »
    1. Containers
Containers are used in the Administration area in place of folders. They are used to organize and limit access to administration components.
    2. Targets
In order to begin creating a new website, a target must first be created.
    3. Configuration Sets
A configuration set is a collection of configurations that can be used to help create one or more pages.
    4. Metadata Sets
A Metadata Set allows the administrator to customize metadata options for multiple assets.
  6. Organizing your Assets
Cascade Server allows any assets to be placed in any folders. Typically, each folder under the Base Folder will represent one site and will contain all the assets needed for that site.
  7. Using External RSS Feeds
Cascade Server allows for the inclusion of external RSS feeds in internally managed pages through the use of an XML Feed Block.
  8. Creating Forms
The CMS makes it easy to manage forms right within the business user interface.
