Import Dreamweaver Template
The Import Dreamweaver Template function gives the content importer a clear way of bringing in existing Dreamweaver templates into Cascade Server.
To import a Dreamweaver template:
- In the top menu bar, select Tools ->Import -> Dreamweaver Template.

- Supply content for the following Fields:
-
System Name: the name of the Cascade Server template that will be created by the import process.
-
Folder: the folder into which the newly created Cascade Server template will be placed.
-
Generated Blocks Folder: the folder into which any newly created blocks will be placed.
-
Target: the target to which the Cascade Server template should belong.
-
Content: the contents of the Dreamweaver template.
-
File Upload: the actual Dreamweaver template file. Will override the Content field.
-
Once submitted, Cascade Server will process the supplied Dreamweaver template, and will detect Dreamweaver page regions within that template. Those page regions will be converted into Cascade Server page regions. Furthermore, for each non-empty page region detected, an XHTML block will be created with that content, and assigned to the new newly-created Cascade Server template’s corresponding page region.
After a successful import, the Report tab will show the content importer the details of what assets were created.

In this example, one can see that the Cascade Server template imported_template was created along with the blocks doctitle, library_copyright, and library_house_of_the_week. These block names are derived from the page region names of the Dreamweaver template.
