Drag and Drop Folder Reordering allows users with Contributor-level write access rights and above to reorder Assets within Folders by dragging and dropping.
Concept
This feature is available only when the contents of a Folder are sorted by folder order (ascending or descending). A custom cursor is placed over a row when it is able be reordered by dragging and dropping. Up/down/top/bottom folder reordering icons will remain.
When an asset is re-ordered, it is placed directly adjacent to the ‘anchor’ asset (the asset before or after [depending on ascending or descending] the position where the asset is being moved).
Values in the ‘Order’ column of the folder contents view are updated dynamically for a user making a folder order change. Changes in folder order will not appear for other users until the folder contents view is refreshed.
Technical
Re-Ordering Assets within a Folder
To Re-Order Assets within a Folder:- Select a folder to view its contents.
- Click "Order" to sort the contents in ascending or descending order.
- Once the contents of the folder have been sorted, a custom cursor will appear over any field that doesn't have a link or some other clickable field.
- Click on the field to move an asset up or down and drop it in its desired order in the folder.
Please Note: Cascade Server will still support the up-down arrows reordering located beneath the "Action" field.
