Setting up a FTP/SFTP Transport
A FTP/SFTP transport is used to move content to a remote FTP/SFTP server. A few requirements need to be met before a FTP/SFTP transport is used:
-
An account is available for Cascade Server to use to login and access the FTP/SFTP server
-
This account has administrative access to the FTP/SFTP server and be able to create and delete files and navigate throughout the FTP/SFTP server
Both of the requirements above will be set on the FTP/SFTP server side and not through Cascade Server. Please contact your FTP/SFTP administrator for more details.
Creating a New Transport
While in the System area, select the Transports/FTP SFTP container and follow these steps:
-
Select Create from the action bar
-
Choose FTP from the drop-down menu
-
The next screen is the FTP/SFTP creation menu:
-
Transport Name: Name of transport; used to identify the transport.
-
Server name: URL of the FTP server
-
Server port: Port setting for FTP server
-
Server Directory: Directory to be accessed after logging into the FTP server. This setting should be used only if a directory other than the root login directory needs to be accessed.
-
Username: login name for the FTP server
-
Password: password value for the user
-
Secure FTP: check the box if the server is a SFTP type server
-
Passive FTP: check the box if the server uses PASV login (default setting is PORT)
- Transfer Packet Size: Maximum size (in bytes) of the individual packets when transferring data to the remote server. The default sizes of 16384 bytes (FTP) and 65536 bytes (SFTP) are suitable for most FTP/SFTP servers. Set this option only if you know that your remote server does not accept packets of this size.
